Most structures for a fully-formed adult are present at eight weeks! Your tiny person is protected by the amnionic sac, filled with fluid, and your baby moves gracefully. At nine weeks, thumb sucking has begun and your baby can swallow. Unbelievably, your baby can grasp objects, stretch and sense touch! Your unborn baby is concerned a fetus, or “unborn offspring.” Your baby also doubles in size around this time and yawns often.
Then, by ten weeks, your baby’s fingerprints are forming, along with fingernails. The number of connections between nerves and muscles has tripled in one week!
