The Kendrick Brothers, Kirk Cameron Entertainment and Fathom Events are releasing their new film, LIFEMARK, in theaters nationwide on September 9th. LIFEMARK is inspired by Louisiana Right to Life’s (LARTL) 2018 documentary I Lived on Parker Avenue.
I Lived on Parker Avenue is a short documentary about the life of Louisiana native David Scotton. He was adopted at birth after his teenage mother nearly aborted him. He was raised in New Orleans and began working on this project with LARTL while a student at Jesuit High School. The documentary was produced by Louisiana Right to Life Executive Director Benjamin Clapper and Videographer Philip Braun.
Prior to LIFEMARK, I Lived on Parker Avenue touched thousands of young people across the country in schools and brought the message that adoption is hope in hundreds of pregnancy centers. The documentary was featured on Fox and Friends, the Christian Broadcasting Network, the Catholic News Agency and by Focus on the Family.
I Lived on Parker Avenue was accepted into two film festivals. In 2018, the I Lived on Parker Avenue team traveled to Los Angeles to the Docuslate Film Festival, where the film was nominated for the “Best Documentary – Short Category” award. Additionally, the film was a finalist for the Christian Worldview Film Festival in Franklin, Tennessee.
Many U.S. adoption organizations, including the National Council for Adoption, have endorsed I Lived on Parker Avenue.
On August 28th, Louisiana Right to Life and Giving Hope hosted a Red Carpet Premiere of LIFEMARK at the Jefferson Parish Performing Art Center. The event was packed with over 900 people and members of the cast attended including Justin Sterner, Actor Playing “Nate” and Rebecca Nelson, Actor playing “Susan” in LIFEMARK.
During the event, Executive Director Benjamin Clapper was given award for his dedication to the documentary and adoption. There was a panel discussion with cast members as well as LIFEMARK Producer Stephen Kendrick. The Kendricks have produced other films including WAR ROOM and FIREPROOF.
