A special election will be held November 8 for Louisiana Senate District 17. The 27th seat was vacated by Senator Rick Ward. District 17 includes all or some of the following parishes: Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. Martin, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana.
